Cecile’s Salad Dressing

This simple salad dressing is a classic in our family, and was passed around by my Auntie Cecile. I like to keep this one on hand, as it’s simple, allowing the flavours of the salad shine through, while adding a little zip to everything.

Cecile’s Salad Dressing

My auntie Cecile's Salad Dressing recipe is a coveted recipe all around the family. Simple is sometimes best!

  • 1 cup oil (your choice (canola was the norm))
  • 1/4 cup vinegar (your choice (white was the norm))
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard/mustard powder
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)

  1. Mix and use over salad as enjoyed.
